November 26, 2015 MY FIRST WEEK AS A MISSIONARY!!!!!

1st WEEK AS A MISSIONARY!!!!

Guys!! I don’t even where to begin and my fingers are shacking because I was so nervously excited to be finally be able to email my family ahah and i only have 45mins which doesn’t help the shaking fingers haha

Oh my goodness being a missionary is such an honor!! I absolutely love this work, I have come to realize how important and vital this work is, and I am apart of it!! yeeppe!! I cnat even remember the beinging  of the week here at the MTC because I have been sooooo busy and I feel like I’ve been here for ages already! but I love it! its a lot of work, but work that is so important I don’t even care that I cant keep my eyes open by 7 pm haha

Well, my second day here at the MTC Elder Renlund, one of the new apostles came to give us a devotainl and then 2 days ago one of the Asia area authorities came to give a devotional, gosh they were both soooo good and talked about our missionary purpose. oooh and I was asked to give the closing prayer in the devotional with Renlund, and got to shake his hand!! what up!!

I AM LITERALLY the only white girl here!! there are 3 other white elders from Utah. but seriously the only white girl haha its awesome! my common names are; sister blue eyes, sister magadana (beautiful), sister curly ( my crazy hair) haha I  am in a district of 4 missionaries! the smallest district you will ever hear of haha but all of them are huge samoans!! They eat all my left overs haha and everyone else’s as well.

food- rice rice rice rice and rice! Its all really good haha just a lot of rice then some more rice! the meat is sweet and we always have veggies with it! they are feeding us too much and we don’t walk at all here sooooooo don’t be surprised if i look a little chubbs! Filipinos don’t use forks to eat with just to cut so, I now only use a spoon to eat my food with, it is so effective try it!!

The hardest thing to get adjusted to is all the different nationalities, my district is awesome but they all speak Samoan and a little English so I am just in class reading my scriptures and they are there just chatting away. Its fun and all I just miss Americans. luckily the mission president is American, oh my goodness he is such a people person and always gives hugs which I love!!

Oh I am in a three some. so I have 3 companions and the one elder in my district doesn’t have a companion so the four of us are all kasamas. but the 2nd night here one of my kasamas needed to go to the ER ( she’s fine now) but mom if I ever need the ER, trust it because it is almost nicer then most USA hospitals hahah well kind of but I just thought I would let you know that hahah I stayed up til 3 am in the ER with her, the day after I was up till 3 am the pervious night from traveling to the Philippines which is a super long story in its self, but moral of the story is that I am here safe and sound and I am loving it!

Tagalog- wow I am so grateful for the gift of tongues, it is real! also I am so lucky to have some Spanish under my belt cause it has helped a lot with pronouncing the words. I can now testify, share a scripture, make small talk and pray! and its only my 1st week sheeesh my brain is going to explode!! but its sooo much fun!

I have eaten some weird things already, one of them being an entire fish with the eye balls still in it! I just couldn’t look at the eyes when I ate it haha but actually it was really really good!
mom I miss your food!! I cant believe you made 300 roles and a bizillion pies all with one hand!! sheeesh my family is awesome, thanks for helping mom with all the baking, I wish I could have been there to help.

We have a progressing investigator!! We have to teach in tagalog, but it just ends up being in English because we still know nothing. But oh my goodness I am addicted to the spirit! The spirit is what taught the lessons, especially because she knows hardly any English! I asked her to be baptized and she said YES!!! ahhh I can’t even tell you the pure joy I had, I wanted to cry! This is why I am here, to testify of Christ and his love for everyone!  We taught her all about families, I testified of families and thought about my loving and supportive family the entire time. I am out here in the Philippines for families. They are central to gods plan, Heavenly Father has blessed me soooo much with a wonderful family I would be selfish to keep happiness and and not share it with these people! I love you guys! thank you for all that you do! oh my goodness, you guys make me miss you all so much, but this work is worth every moment of it! I cant wait to get out in the field!

there is soooooo much more i want to say but i am running our of time. also i nearly cried when i heard we weren’t able to send pictures because these computers don’t have a software for it! I have taken so so many pictures so expect about a million when I finally get out in the field!  I just wish with all my heart there was a waY!! ahhhh....

My heart is filled with so much love for this gospel, for my friends and most importantly my family and our heavenly father. this work is wonderful and I am so blessed to be one of Gods dedicated servants. This church is true. Wish me look with all the rice! oh and tagalog! I hope you guys had an amazing Thanksgiving!!

I LOVE YOU!!!!!!
