Hello po. Family and friends! How was
everyone’s week? I hope it was splendid and you are all happy and healthy.
Guess what I shook hands with an Apostle!! Elder Russel M. Nelson! Oh my
goodness it was such an incredible experience. I will never forget that day and
that spirit that i felt listening to a servant of the Lord. The entire ageless
mission gathered together in Tarlac. I think there was about 230 of us
missionaries, which is pretty big i think. (On a side note- we had to travel 2
hours by an open window bus, they told all the missionaries to come looking
your best haha i don’t know how well we did with that because we all had crazy
hair and were all wind blown haha, but thats okay because I was able to see
some Philippines country and rice feilds finally! Oh my goodness it was so
pretty) any way, We each got to shake hands with him, his wife, elder Bowen (
the area 70) and the mission president and his wife. As i shook hands
with him i was taken away by his eyes, holy cow they are the bluest eyes ive
ever seen! They were like the color of the ocean in Cancun .
He looks a lot older in person, he has the cutest wrinkled face, i didn’t
realize he is so old, 92 years old! I loved watching all his little moments; he
is just like a normal person, like a cute old grandpa. When he sat down he took
off his suit coat and just sat very comfortably in his chair. There was such an
incredible power in that room, I knew he is a prophet of God, there was no
denying it. All of the people we shook hands with, spoke to us. It was
incredible of course. It was of course about missionary work, but by the time
we were done it had all been about eternal marriage and families. That goes to
show just how important our families are to our heavenly father. I know that we
are able to be with our families not just in this life but for
ETERNITY
, if we follow our Heavenly father and his son Jesus Christ. At the end of the
meeting he sent us missionaries on our way, with a powerful blessing. He prayed
for our safety and our success and some really powerful things, don’t worry i
wrote everything down because of this incredible and rare opportunity. As he
was doing so, it remained me of my great grandpa who would always do the same
thing at the end of each family reunion. I am just remained how blessed i am
with this gospel. “ I have been given so much so i too must give”.
Other then that awesome
once in a life time opportunity not much happened that was too different from
the other days haha but I still am loving it here and meeting all these
wonderful people.
I hope you all have
such a wonderful week knowing that i love and appreciate you all so much! Thank
you for all the prayers for the missionaries and the work here.
I sister Evans love you
all sooooooo much!
