From the Philippines to You!! February 21, 2016

Hello po. Family and friends! How was everyone’s week? I hope it was splendid and you are all happy and healthy. Guess what I shook hands with an Apostle!! Elder Russel M. Nelson! Oh my goodness it was such an incredible experience. I will never forget that day and that spirit that i felt listening to a servant of the Lord. The entire ageless mission gathered together in Tarlac. I think there was about 230 of us missionaries, which is pretty big i think. (On a side note- we had to travel 2 hours by an open window bus, they told all the missionaries to come looking your best haha i don’t know how well we did with that because we all had crazy hair and were all wind blown haha, but thats okay because I was able to see some Philippines country and rice feilds finally! Oh my goodness it was so pretty) any way, We each got to shake hands with him, his wife, elder Bowen ( the area 70) and the mission president and his wife.  As i shook hands with him i was taken away by his eyes, holy cow they are the bluest eyes ive ever seen! They were like the color of the ocean in Cancun. He looks a lot older in person, he has the cutest wrinkled face, i didn’t realize he is so old, 92 years old! I loved watching all his little moments; he is just like a normal person, like a cute old grandpa. When he sat down he took off his suit coat and just sat very comfortably in his chair. There was such an incredible power in that room, I knew he is a prophet of God, there was no denying it. All of the people we shook hands with, spoke to us. It was incredible of course. It was of course about missionary work, but by the time we were done it had all been about eternal marriage and families. That goes to show just how important our families are to our heavenly father. I know that we are able to be with our families not just in this life but for ETERNITY              , if we follow our Heavenly father and his son Jesus Christ. At the end of the meeting he sent us missionaries on our way, with a powerful blessing. He prayed for our safety and our success and some really powerful things, don’t worry i wrote everything down because of this incredible and rare opportunity. As he was doing so, it remained me of my great grandpa who would always do the same thing at the end of each family reunion. I am just remained how blessed i am with this gospel. “ I have been given so much so i too must give”.
Other then that awesome once in a life time opportunity not much happened that was too different from the other days haha but I still am loving it here and meeting all these wonderful people.
I hope you all have such a wonderful week knowing that i love and appreciate you all so much! Thank you for all the prayers for the missionaries and the work here.

I sister Evans love you all sooooooo much!

Dear Angeles Mission Parent:

We've learned that due to a malfunction in the Church Missionary E-mail system, some of you did not receive a message from your missionary this week.  For this we apologize.  The technical people in Salt Lake confirmed the problem and tell us they are working on a fix.

Please know that all our missionaries in Angeles Mission are safe, well and living on a spiritual high. We were blessed to have had all our missionaries at the mission headquarters for a conference with President and Sister Nelson this past Tuesday.  All missionaries were here.  We shook hands and spoke with all of them.  Rest assured your missionary is well, even though their weekly e-mail didn't arrive in your inbox.

We are very blessed and blessing the lives of many here in the Philippines.  Thanks to those parents that notified us of the problem.  You will likely receive this week's e-mail next week.  Thank you also for your love and prayers for your missionary and our mission.

HAppy Valentines Day!!! I love you all!! 2-7-16

My dearest friends and family!
I think every week with “holy cow, has it already been another week gone by?” haha which is sooo true these weeks go by so fast! This week was great, its always great! I am half way done with my training so i am no longer the youngest in the mission feild which i don’t feel old enough to be so haha i still feel  like a bata ( kid) its exciting. Last week i had a rough time wih tagalolg, this week was a little better except for this one time we were in a lesson and i was teaching how to reacevie answers to prayers and i accidently said “ you will recive sickness when you pray” instead of “ you will recive answers to your prayers when you pray haha it was really funny because there faces went from already looking confused to looking super confused haha. Well not to many super crazy things happened this week, we were fed a lot by EVERYONE haha they just give us food! This week was pretty cloudy and rainy which was a nice little break from the heat. Last night we went to a members house for dinner, and they had a  vistitor over from Australia, so we taught a whole lesson in English...it was the hardest thing ever haha i thought i wasn’t really progressing until then where it was almost impossible to thing of any way to teach in English haha. It was funny because some of the words and phrases we use in tagalong sound so awkward in English haha , im sure they felt just as awkward as i did hahah but it was a lot of fun. I love it here, i love the people i love the culture and most of all i love seeing who heavenly father is preparing. I am so greatful i am not the teacher but the spirit is, i think that is why love it so much because i know if i can be worthy of the spirit to bring the gospel UNTO the hearts of Gods children then the Spirit while teach/tesify and bring it INTO the hearts of all of Gods children. I love this work and i am so greatful for all the prayers of my family and friends for the missionary efforts and for me, I really feel your prayers and i couldn’t do this with out your love and support. I LOOOOOOOVE you guys sooooo much!!! Especially in the valentines  season of love ;)
I hope you all have an incredible week, eat lots of chocolate for me okay! Oh and some Mexican food! Holy cow i am craving Mexican food so bad right now!
Sister Evans Loves you guys soooo much! Always remember to talk to our heavenly father through prayer! HE loves you and is sooo mindful of all his children
With all my love,
Lillian

So much food that the good people give our missionaries.

This is at the computer place where Lillian writes her mama

Lillian said that it's been so hot...(her biggest trial haha) that she just had to tear the sleeves off of this shirt.

She made sweet and sour chicken with the packet she received from home.

We are so grateful for Sister Mepina and know that she is a true blessing for Lillian.
